  1.     Combining .GLF (Golfer Result) Files                FILE: FM.HLP
  2.                                                                         
  3.     There may come a time when it is necessary to combine one or more 
  4.     .GLF files.  These are the files that hold results of play.                
  5.                                                                         
  6.     The reason that there is a separate facility for this is because the 
  7.     files are not able to be read with word processors.   If you wanted 
  8.     to   combine two months or two seasons or if you wanted to see how 
  9.     two groups  of golfers compared, you would not be able to accomplish 
  10.     this task without the combine facility.
  11.                                                                            
  12.     Combining files does not alter or delete the original files.  It 
  13.     merely  makes one file from two.  By entering the names of two 
  14.     existing files along with a new name, the two existing are spliced 
  15.     as one.  The resultant file is named according to the third name 
  16.     given.                               
  17.                                                                             
  18.     The opposite of a combine or splice would be the split.   For more 
  19.     info on how and why to split a file, see the next help screen.
  20.                                                                             
  21.     Archiving files at period end is also accomplished using the 
  22.     Combine/Split Facility.
